With an extraordinary mix of clinical excellence, innovation, and heartfelt care, Dr Ian Weisberg has become a defining figure in cardiac electrophysiology across Florida’s Emerald Coast. His vision to bring world-class arrhythmia care to this region has changed countless lives, making complex heart rhythm treatments more accessible, effective, and compassionate.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Dr Ian Weisberg displayed early excellence in both academics and athletics. He earned “All Southwest” recognition in soccer and played a key role on The Greenhill School’s national championship tennis team. These early achievements reflected a deep commitment to discipline, leadership, and teamwork—qualities that would shape his medical journey. He went on to study at Emory University, where he received a B.A. in Economics while completing a rigorous premedical curriculum. His education extended globally through programs at the London School of Economics and the Institute of Italian Studies in Florence, enriching his cultural awareness and global outlook on healthcare. He returned to Emory University for medical school, where his passion for cardiology and patient-centered medicine solidified.

Dr Ian Weisberg completed his Internal Medicine residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital via UT Southwestern, widely regarded as one of the nation’s most demanding and prestigious programs. He then pursued a Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Florida – Jacksonville, earning the honor of serving as Chief Fellow. To further specialize in arrhythmia treatment, he completed an advanced fellowship in Clinical and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Chicago. There, Dr Ian Weisberg refined his expertise in advanced procedures such as atrial fibrillation ablation, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), pacemaker and ICD implantation, and the Watchman device for stroke prevention.

Upon relocating to the Florida Panhandle, Dr Ian Weisberg launched the area’s first fully integrated electrophysiology program at Gulf Breeze Hospital. His pioneering leadership and commitment to patients earned him the prestigious “We Care” Doctor of the Year awards in 2012 and 2014. He also became one of the first physicians in the nation to implant the Biotronik DX ICD, a milestone that emphasized his focus on advancing medical technology to improve patient outcomes.

Determined to bring expert care to more communities, Dr Ian Weisberg expanded EP services to North Okaloosa Medical Center and HCA Fort Walton-Destin. In 2025, he fulfilled a longtime goal by opening Emerald Coast Heart & AFib—the only practice in the region solely dedicated to treating arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.

Outside the clinic, Dr Ian Weisberg is a proud father and an active sports enthusiast. He brings the same drive, balance, and compassion to his personal life as he does to his groundbreaking work in cardiac care—transforming not just heart rhythms, but the lives of his patients across the Emerald Coast.
