In our society, public events are an important part of our culture since they’re often a place where people can gather and celebrate. Public events can range from sporting contests to concerts and festivals—they’re open to the public and often occur outdoors, and can be prone to accidents. For that, Dr Michael Hilton will discuss why public events always have an emergency medical service team.
People Assume That Public Events Have A Single Emergency Medical Service Team
Most people assume that most public events have a single type of emergency medical service team. However, there are many different types of EMS teams for public events and they all serve different purposes.
The EMS team is there to provide medical care in the event of an emergency. They can provide a variety of services, including first aid, emergency medical transport (EMT), and advanced life support.
A Public Event Is Any Event Open To Anyone There
A public event is any event open to the public, which can be held at any venue, such as a park, stadium, or theater. Public events include sporting events (such as marathons), concerts, and festivals.
When large numbers of people gather together in one place for an extended period of time they create what’s known as “congestion” which makes it harder for people to reach those who need help quickly if something goes wrong at the event, which is why an emergency medical service team is always present at any public event.
The Event Venue Has Its Own First Responder Team
Dr Michael Hilton Lastly, the venue will generally have its own first responder team that can provide initial care until EMS arrives on the scene. This is because they are trained to assess and treat injuries, but they are not trained to transport patients. First responders can provide initial care until EMS arrives on the scene, but they cannot perform advanced life support (ALS).
